Migadis Giannis
The painter Giannis Migadis was born in Heraklion, Crete.
He studied painting at the School of Fine Arts with professor K. Parthenis from 1945 to 1951. Then he left with a scholarship to Paris where he studied scenography and costume design at the Ecole des Arts Decoratifs.
He has presented his works in group and solo exhibitions from 1953 until today. At the same time he worked at the National Theater, the K.Th.B.E. the free theater as well as in the Greek and Foreign cinema as a set designer and costume designer.
He has illustrated books, calendars, and magazines.
His articles have been published in literary and artistic magazines
Member of the Artistic Chamber and the International Theater Center.
His works are in the National Gallery of Athens, the Pieridis Gallery, the Vorre Museum and other public and private collections in Greece and abroad.
In "National" Bank, "Agricultural", "Commercial", "Piraeus" and Ministries
in 1998 he was awarded by the Academy of Athens for his artistic contribution, by the "Union of Playwrights", the theater museum, the club "Knossos" of Heraklion in Athens, and in 2007 with the "Nikos Kazantzakis" Award
He lives in Athens.
